Attention Families of Early Drop-Off Students
Friday, April 12, 2019 4:15 PM

Full supervision of students begins at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria.  Students who are dropped off early are not given permission to leave school grounds and we do not actively monitor the attendance of students until 9:30 a.m. - the official start of the school day.  We expect students to act in a safe and responsible manner while at school as supervision before 9:00 a.m. is limited.  Please note we have noticed students leaving the school grounds after being dropped off in the morning to go to the coffee shop or corner grocery store.  We expect students to remain on campus once they are dropped off on campus.

MN Attorneys Mentor Students from Anwatin M.S.
Monday, April 8, 2019 12:00 PM
On March 27, 2019 twenty Anwatin students attended an all-day field trip to the Nilan Johnson Lewis - Law offices of downtown Minneapolis.  These students were invited to participate through a mentorship program with the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association and Anwatin Middle School.  During the 2018 - 2019 school year the mentorship program expanded from it’s 5 original students to include 7th and 8th-grade students on the Spanish debate team as well.
As a part of this trip, students attended a presentation panel including three lawyers and one judge.  Students had the opportunity to ask questions about law, debate, and careers in law. After lunch students participated in mock trial, playing the roles of judge, lawyers, witnesses, and jury.  The day was a complete success and many students declared their intentions to study law in the future!  Anwatin is grateful for these dynamic experiences and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association.

Summer School Announcement
Friday, February 22, 2019 12:45 PM

MPS has just released details for summer school registration.  View the full details here.

Dear Parent or Guardian:

We are gearing up for summer session!

This year we are asking parents and guardians to complete a fillable PDF application to register their child for summer school. Why is it preferred that you complete a fillable PDF? Because the data is easily exported to a master spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is what will contain pertinent information for transportation, principals, nurses, etc and helps us to manage the student's data more effectively.

If you do not have a computer, please see the front office at your child's school for a paper copy to complete. This paper copy is to be returned to the front office.
