The Reseach, Evaluation, & Assessments department (REA) of Minneapolis Public Schools assists schools and the school district by collecting, interpreting and communicating findings. REA assists staff to integrate data into the district improvement process and encourage data-based decision making.

Formative Assessment System for Teachers (FAST)
FAST assessments are used as district-wide universal screening assessments for all students in Kindergarten through grade 8 in order to assess students’ broad reading and math skills. Anwatin will administer the aReading and aMath assessments to all 6-8 students. Refer to FAST Assessment in Minneapolis Public Schools for additional information. 

English Language Proficiency Assessments

Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA)

Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS) 
MTAS is a performance-based assessment in reading, mathematics and science for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.
